Employee Spotlight: New and Familiar Faces

Mandatory work from home guidelines have been a considerable adjustment for just about everyone. This is especially true for employees that have recently joined a new company. Onboarding remotely and interacting with colleagues that you’ve never met face-to-face can feel a little daunting.

Here at Tango Card, we want to give our employees the chance to get to know each other better. Beginning this month, we’ll regularly spotlight some of our extraordinary team members. Be sure to keep your eye out for the next spotlight!

Please meet Zoraya Hernandez, Kerry McMurtry, and Danita Carroll, three incredible Tango Card employees working from Omaha, Nebraska.

Zoraya Hernandez, Recipient Support Lead

What is it like working at Tango Card?

Working at Tango Card is like playing chess. I use the best-learned strategies to help customers win each day. Strategizing helps me troubleshoot what’s working and not working for our customers. It’s thrilling to communicate with all sorts of personalities over the phone and through email. It’s an uplifting and expanding environment, where new ideas, methods to grow, and better ways to serve customers are voiced and implemented.

If you were stuck on an island what three things would you bring with you?

I love nature, so I would bring a camera to capture my adventures, my guitar to keep me uplifted, and a compass.

What keeps you working at Tango Card?

Positive momentum. I like working for admirable leaders at a company that walks the talk. I really appreciate the genuine leaders above me who strive to be the roles models and teammates they expect us to be.

Kerry McMurtry, Engineering Manager

What keeps you working at Tango Card?

The comradery and fulfilling work! I really enjoy seeing the changes with growth, the new people, and the completion of work and improvement in the lives of the people I work with.

Any advice for future Tango Card candidates?

Leverage the people around you! Everyone wants to help and we're all better off when questions are asked and answered. Use the tools you have to the fullest extent—they're available for your benefit and will help you onboard and get familiar with the business and your coworkers.

If you were stuck on an island what three things would you bring with you?

I should say a knife, fire starter, and rope. But realistically, I would bring a phone, sunscreen, and a case of beer.

Danita Carroll, Warehouse Supervisor

What keeps you working at Tango Card?

This job has a family-environment feel to it, which is what you look for. It's a place that makes you feel like you’re appreciated and your voice is heard.

If you were stuck on an island what three things would you bring with you?

I would bring a mirror, axe, and my cell phone. The cell phone is for placing orders with my Reward Links when I'm hungry. I hope by then, ships will be making deliveries.

What is it like working at Tango Card?

Working at Tango Card has been an experience that I'm glad to have been blessed with. It's a fast-paced environment, one that not only finds ways to make our jobs easier as employees, but also ensures that our customers have an awesome experience.
